Kiln Agility Training Society

Brief Club History:

The club was founded in August 1991.

The venue, “The Kiln” was found by

Sydney Hougham, who today is still an active

member,  principal trainer and the president of

the club.

 It was originally named

“The Aldershot and District Agility Club”

Initialy the club trained on a fortnightly

 basis but this proved

unsatisfactory and in 1993 started meeting

weekly. That is still the way the

club operates today.

In the early days, with the help

 of enthusiastic club members, much

equipment was built

and painted in the club livery until

 we became one of

the best equipped clubs in the area.

. Most has been replaced

by purchase, to meet new

Kennel Club regulations.

This is an ongoing commitment for the club, as

safety is constantly being monitored

by the Kennel Club. Thus the

equipment you train on is of the same standard

as you will meet when you

choose to compete outside the club.

At the AGM held on the 14th April 2002 it was agreed

to change the club name to

 The Kiln Agility Training Society.

This gives rise to the easy to

remember acronym of KATS.

The renewed club quickly became a victim

of it’s own success. Most of the

trainers were also competitors and wanted to

 compete at the weekend and

classes just got bigger and bigger.

So the search was started for a new

training day and venue.

As of the 3rd March 2004 KATS moved to Beacon

Hill Farm, Crondall

and now trains on a Wednesday evening.

 Surprisingly

we lost very few members in the move.
